Hi, I’m Amber.
I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and the founder of Amberlight Therapy in Des Moines, Iowa. I work with individuals, couples, and adult families who are ready to slow down, get curious, and do something different.
I started Amberlight because I believe therapy should feel like something — a real relationship where you feel safe enough to be honest, curious enough to go deeper, and supported enough to actually change. My work is grounded in a belief I’ve held since the beginning of my career: healing happens in relationship.

How I Work
My approach is collaborative, experiential, and tailored to who you are — your history, your relationships, your goals, and your strengths. I’m less interested in labeling what’s wrong and more interested in understanding what’s happening beneath the surface, in the patterns, in the space between people.
I have additional training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP). I offer the equine services at Dusty Boots Barn in Bevington, Iowa — where horses serve as therapeutic partners in ways the office sometimes can’t replicate.

Reaching out is the hardest part — everything after that we figure out together.
